Past Research Associate Dr. Vanessa Davis
presents her work on the rift between
liberal arts and technical education
in the U.S. during a CS/RA happy hour.
Every few weeks during the academic year, the Humanities Institute sponsors a Happy Hour in a private room of The Clay Pit restaurant a few blocks from the University campus. These Happy Hours serve the purpose of bringing together Community Sabbatical grantees, Research Associates, and other members with links to the Institute’s community programs to create an informal, yet intellectual, setting where participants can share their research projects and ideas and get feedback from others.
The Happy Hours usually begin with an informal half hour presentation of work in progress or exploration of an issue of interest by a Community Sabbatical grantee or Research Associate, followed by another half hour of questions and discussions.
All programs take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Clay Pit Restaurant, 1601 Guadalupe St., unless otherwise noted. The Humanities Institute provides drinks and refreshments. Invitations to the Happy Hours are generally sent out a week in advance of the event.
