What the Consortium Is: The K-12 Educational Outreach Consortium is a collective of organizations and individuals who work at The University of Texas at Austin and provide resources to the K-12 community. The University has a number of organizations, staff and faculty that work with elementary, middle and high schools statewide to share research findings, educational strategies, and university resources. The Consortium will provide a space to (1) connect and share resources, (2) promote events and professional development opportunities, (3) build a community of like-minded citizen-scholars, (4) increase awareness about our efforts and (5) identify opportunities to partner. To that end, there is a Consortium ListServ and a draft directory of potential membership (please see bellow).
The UT campus units listed below represent active members of a consortium of University-based partners with—and providers of educational services to—public schools, schoolteachers, and students in Texas.

Draft Directory of Potential Consortium Members:
As a first step toward a more comprehensive and better organized web representation of the units on campus that are actively engaged in the challenges of K-12 public education, the Humanities Institute has prepared a draft directory.
The services provided by these various campus units include: teacher training (TT), curricular materials (CU), student activities (SA), educational research (ER), preparatory programs and enrichment for underserved students (PR), distance learning (DL), and extracurricular (XC) and summer (SU) programs.
The draft directory is organized by the categories described above. Each unit is listed once under the category that most accurately seems to encompass its programs. When units are active in more than one category, this is indicated in their program descriptions and by a parenthetical list of other category abbreviations at the end of their entries. The order of the units listed is random. Download the draft directory (pdf).

Consortium Survey Results:
The Consortium undertook a survey of potential members to identify key points of overlap, including funding sources, target audiences, and institutional partners. Read the survey results (pdf).
Web Page Survey
Download this survey (pdf) to help us generate a brief profile of your program for the revision of the UT Outreach Web Page. From the results, we will generate a brief profile to help Web users learn more about your program and the services that it offers.
